I can just imagine the complicated design process to get the art for this NM just right. Congratulations are in order for Blacksus, being the bearer of a new Strigoi ring.Īddendum: I forgot about the Blobdingnags, Ooooh, the Blobdingnags. Better yet however, we also obtained our first Ring, after around fifteen Ruthven kills.
Including the surprisingly easy Yilbegan, though I suppose the drop rate of the desired items is befitting of the effort involved in the kill.
#NIDHOGG SCALE DROP RATE UPDATE#
A mere two weeks after the March Update has passed, Woopas has cleared the entire roster of VNM’s. The March update’s content certainly did not last long.
Also, a message to my fellow linkshell mates along those regards:ĭO YOUR FUCKING WINGS OF THE GODDESS MISSIONSĬomments : Leave a Comment » Tags: Lulz, Voidwalkers Categories : general The Update is looming just around the corner, so expect some good posts when the Abyssea zone and Walk of Echo’s is released. I Just so happen to have a picture from that Moment of Triumph:Īnd of course, the ring we (Or I mean Freonski, but do I even have to specify any more?) got! The first (not counting solo’d Krabkatoas) being the Punisher axe made from 10 Baby Blodingnags, for lolbst Zicdeh. Still, we manage, The 5th ring added to the Linkshell Arsenal (Whoopity shit amirite?) but more importantly, members are closing in on completing the extremely powerful “Occasionally Attacks Twice” Powerhouse weapons. We have acknowledged now that there is a correlation between VNM’s that have Shadows, and a boost in drop rates (Particularly rings and Elemental Ores) yet even with this revelation, the VNM system is still a perversion of game design, particularly with regards to Yilbegan. But yes, it seems, just in time for the new update, VNM’s have finally been “Figured out”, though what exactly that means is up for debate. It is quite a strange position to be in, but perhaps SE intended this as a way to maintain both FFXIV and FFXI players’ simultaneous accounts, who is to say? Anyway, here’s the most noteworthy kills of our time in Abyssea.Ĭomments : Leave a Comment » Tags: Absolute Virtue, Abyssea Categories : generalįorgive the telegraph inspired title, I’ve been playing Red Dead Redemption a little too much. At the good end, you have fun content, and great loot, at the other, you have the forsaken and irrelevant game left behind by Abyssea. Moving on to less interesting, but more groundbreaking news, Abyssea continues to be the center of activity for almost all of FFXI. I’m not here to stroke our ego (Well, technically I am, but my blog, my rules bitch) so I’m not going to talk about how ‘azome’ we are for being able to basically kill something while Invincible, but what I will say, is great job to all participants, you earned your victory. I don’t know what more to say, while it certainly isn’t unprecedented, or particularly impressive on any other level but a managerial one, it still offers a great deal of closure to all who witnessed it. These monsters are mainly a bit deeper into the water, so you have to be a bit out in the water.Absolute Virtue has finally been Vanquished. And don't do my mistake, go for the Greater Wavetreshers and remain in these waters (southern coastline). Summary: You'll need a lot of patience on this part of the quest chain, but it isn't half as pathetic as the Antler quest before this one. But no, endless line of killed treshers was leading me all the way up on the northern coast and I was starting to run out of patience. Smart as I thought I was I made the patrol go back to the quest NPC because I thought I would get these drops on the way back. An observation was that the Greater Wavetreshers seem to drop the scales more frequently than the normal and young treshers (I got 2 in 4 kills I think). I started the sea patrol by traveling out to the flight platform for the runes quest killing some treshers en-route. And it's not really like they're many in one location. This imagination I guess is the only way to stay sane while swimming the endless coast in search for the scales. Speed also feels like I'm on some patrol exercise. Comment by ThottbotI start feeling like a submarine now with a very bad supply of oxygen to go sub-merged.
